Looking for a leisurely stroll with expansive viewpoints of the entire wetlands? Hit the Old Coach Trail, nine ki- lometres of winding trail that can be used for an enjoyable bike or walk with breathtaking scenery, accessible from both a trailhead in Dry Gulch just south of Radium or in Radium itself (see page 31 for directions on accessing the Old Coach Trail from both locations). On the west side of the wetlands just outside of the small community of Wilmer — a 15-minute drive from Radium village — you can take in a similar experience at the Wilmer Bird Sanctuary on the east side of Westside Road (drive down Forster's Landing Road and turn left af- ter the bridge) that looks out over the expansive wetlands with the Canadian Rocky Mountains as the backdrop. No matter where you view it from, the Columbia Wetlands offer a truly unparalleled experience. And the annual Wings Over the Rockies festival celebrates this wetlands experience every year — visit WingsOvertheRockies.org to learn more.
